A man was hacked to death by his wife at village Bogajaan in Bhaluka upazila on Friday.
The victim was identified as Billal Hossain, 28, of village Bogajaan.
Quoting family and local people police said Billa got married with Morsheda, 25, of the same village 10 years ago and they had been passing their days in hardship.
Morsheda allegedly hacked her husband with a sharp cutter early Friday, said Mamun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka police station.
Hearing the scream of the victim, local people rushed to the spot, rescued the man and took him to Bhaluka upazila health complex. Later, he was shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police arrested Morsheda and produced her yesterday before a Mymensingh court that sent her to jail.
Victim’s father has lodged a case with Bhaluka police station.
