A truck driver was killed as he was allegedly pushed out of a bus carrying a picnic party following a brawl over a collision between two vehicles at Katlamari Bazar on the Kushtia-Meherpur highway in Mirpur upazila on Friday evening, reports UNB.
Quoting locals, police said a Bheramara-bound ‘Sakib Delux’ bus carrying picnickers hit a truck while overtaking in the area around 6:30 am.
At one stage, the driver of the truck, Golam Kibria, 27, son of Abdul Wahid of Kalyanpur village in Gangni upazila in Meherpur district, had an altercation with the driver of the bus over the issue.
Later, the bus driver allegedly picked up the truck driver into his vehicle and pushed him out of the moving bus at a place one kilometer away, leaving him dead.
Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Doulatpur Police Station, said the bus carrying students of Bheramara Paturia Secondary School was going to Mujibnagar for a picnic and the brawl took place while returning to Bheramara in the evening. However, police seized the bus, added the OC.
