A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men allegedly ransacked a Juba League leader’s office in the city’s Tilaghor area on Friday evening following the previous enmity. 

During the attack they also ‘damaged’ a picture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sources said, a group of BCL men numbering 30/40 allegedly led by Arif Khan and Soyef Khan entered the district Juba League leader Hiron Mahmud Nipu’s political office in Tilaghor area on Friday evening. After entering the room they started to ransack the furniture. They also damaged the picture of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But no one hurt during the incident. 
A tense situation has been prevailing in the area. On information police rushed to the spot and fired two rubber bullets to bring the situation under control. No case was filed in this connection said, Nizam Uddin officer in charge of Shaporan police station. While contacting Hiron Mahmud Nipu his phone was fund switched off. On the other hand attackers were not available to take their comments. UNB adds: Two activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a factional clash at Madan Mohan College in the city yesterday afternoon. The injured are Satyajit Das, 28, a Master’s student and Rakin Ahmed, 22, also a student of the college. Witnesses said the supporters of former BCL leader Bidhan Shaha stabbed Rakin, a supporter of local BCL leader Abdul Hannan, with a knife on the college campus around 1pm over a trifling matter. During the assault, BCL activists of Rakin’s group also stabbed Satyajit. The injured were admitted MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. In-charge of Lamabazar police camp sub-inspector Benu Chandra Das said both the injured are activists of BCL.
