‘Doctors must work 3 years in rural areas’

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday said the government has a plan to extend the compulsory service period of physicians in rural hospitals from the existing two years to three years for the greater interest of the people, reports UNB.
“The government consider prayers for transfer or higher studies on lean by physicians only after completion of the two years compulsory service of the concerned doctors in the rural hospitals, he said while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif in the House.
The minister said the government is enforcing the existing health policy strictly for protecting interest of members of the public.
