Man to die for killing wife

BARGUNA: A court here on Monday sentenced a person to death for killing his wife at Charkhali village under Betagi upazila of the district in 2014, reports BSS.
The District and Session Judge M Barekuzzaman pronounced the verdict.
The convict is Abdul Latif Khan, 60, of the village.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that the convict chopped his wife Relima, 40, to death at the village on January 22, 2014, the court official said.
After the incident, the victim’s brother Shah Alam Sikdar filed a case with Betagi Police Station against Latif Khan.
Police, after investigation of the case, submitted charge sheet before the court against him.
The judge after examining 16 witnesses and evidences found him guilty and announced the verdict in presence of him.
