Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday hinted that the seized arms and ammo, recovered by members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Sherpur district, belong to an Indian separatist group. The Home Minister came up with the remark while talking to reporters after US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake met him separately at his Secretariat office yesterday, reports UNB. On Monday, the elite force members in a drive recovered 43,000 rounds of bullets, two sniper rifles, 2000 antiaircraft missiles, six walki-talkies, 37 magazines, two chargers and some military equipment from four separate spots from a hillock at Kalapani in Bhurunga border area of Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district. Asaduzzaman hinted that law enforcement agencies also recovered arms ammunition belonging to Indian separatist groups from Sylhet and other areas earlier. He said the present government does not patronise separatist groups. The US Ambassador said Bangladesh is under the threat of IS and they want to share information in this regard, the minister added.
