Customs officials seized 60 gold bars, weighing around 6 kg, from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday, reports UNB.
Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Shahiduzzaman Sarkar said a flight of the national flag carrier landed at the airport around 1:15pm from Doha via Chittagong.
Tipped off, the customs officials conducted a search in the aircraft and recovered the gold, worth Tk 3 crore, from beneath a seat of the plane, he said. However, no one was arrested in this connection.
