Bangla Academy observes Diamond Jubilee

The Bangla Academy will  host a day-long International Poetry Festival on its premises in the capital today marking its diamond Jubilee.
The festival is divided into two sessions and the first session will be started at around 10am at Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium while the 2nd session will be started at around 4pm at the main stage of the book fair. Besides, in the afternoon, Bangla academy held a discussion on “Diamond Jubilee of Bangla academy: flashback” at the main stage on the academy premises where Shafiul Islam presented a key note paper.
In the morning session, British poet Joe Winter who also translated the poetry of Jibananandha and Poet Nurul Huda of Bangladesh will deliver separate essay on “Bangla and world’s poetry”.  A good number of foreign guests  including Bengt Berg, Larsh Hager, Bengt Berg and Lotte Sederholms from Sweden; Erling Ktensen from Norway, Milan Richar from Slovakia, Benaissa Bouhmala, Lee Kuei-Shien and Fang Yaw-Chien from Taiwan as well as Bangladeshi poet Asad Choduhury, Nirmolendu Goon, Mohadev Saha, Kazi Rosey and Aminur Rahman will recite their verses.
