Eleven people were killed and 25 others injured in separate road accidents in Bogra, Dinajpur, Natore and Manikganj districts yesterday. Our correspondent from Bogra says: Four people were killed in separate accidents in Adamdighi and Sajahanpur upazilas yesterday morning. Two persons were killed and 15 others injured at West Singra-Dhaka More area in Adamdighi upazila. The deceased were identified as Rashmeen, 24, of Kanchanpur village in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district and Nasir Alam, 16, of Manggalpur village of Joypurhat district.
Moslem Uddin, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi police station, said the accident occurred when a Sapahar-bound BRTC bus hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering at about 5 am, leaving two persons dead on the spot and 15 others injured. The injured were admitted to Naogaon General Hospital. Later, among the injured Faruque was shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra. Police seized the bus, but its driver managed to flee away.
Sweety Begum, 32, of Moria village and Omor Faruque, 11, of Dorikullah village of Sajahanpur upazila, were killed when a human hauler carrying them turned turtle in Naimile area of the upazila yesterday afternoon as its driver lost control over the steering, said Abdul Mannan, OC of Sajahanpur police. Our Dinajpur correspondent reports: Three people were killed and 30 others injured as a bus hit a road-side tree as its driver lost control over the steering at Kushigari village in Ghoraghat upazila early in the morning. The deceased was identified as bus driver Sultan Alam, 45, Abdus Sattar, 22, of Biral upazila and Rayhan, 45, of Phulbari upazila. Aminul Islam, sub-inspector of Ghoraghat police station, said the Dinajpur-bound ‘Insaf Paribahan’ bus from Dhaka hit a roadside tree while giving side a truck in the area around 5:30am, leaving three persons dead on the spot and 30 others injured. The injured were taken to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex and Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. UNB adds: Three people were killed as a truck overturned on the road in Atrai bridge toll plaza area of Singra upazila in Natore early yesterday. The deceased were identified as Shahin, Shuvo and Chhoton. Police said the accident took place when the damaged truck overturned on the road breaking a part while it was being repaired in the area around 12:30am, leaving Shahin dead on the spot and two others injured. Injured Shuvo and Chhoton died on the way to Sadar Hospital.
Wazed Ali Khan, officer-in-charge of Singra police station, confirmed the incident. In Manikganj, a man was killed as a BRTC bus crushed into him while he was getting on it on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in bus stand area of the district town around 9am.The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain, resident of Baghutia village of Daulatpur upazila. Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Manikganj sadar police station, confirmed the accident.
