Ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup T20 and ICC World T20 2016, Bangladesh team management has sorted out some areas where they must need to work for  better performance.
As a part of it, they have been working intensely since last one month so that they could hone their batting, bowling and fielding skills and techniques.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who came to National Cricket Academy for Gym yesterday, admitted the matter and said that they are working to improve the performance ahead of the two important T20 tournaments.
“T20 is a power cricket, where accuracy is more important. All we are working on it. Last one month we have been done better practice sessions at centre wicket under flood light,” said Taskin Ahmed.
“Actually we played the series and held practice sessions that has been done to mitigate the amount of errors ahead of the Asia Cup and ICC World T20 so that we could come back in much accuracy,” he told media.
“This time we’ve done our batting, bowling and fielding practice in different ways, which will be helpful for us. We all could manage to lessen our errors by doing these practices ahead of the tournaments. We could play more prefect game,” he added.
Before leaving Dhaka for Chittagong on February 7 following the week-long vacation, bowlers have to take part another two-day sessions, which will be held on February 3 and 5.
On the other hand, pacer Al Amin Hossain said that their practice in last one month will be helpful for them in Asia Cup and World T20.
“Before the start of the last home series against Zimbabwe we went to Khulna. Thereafter, we were stayed there for another week. During the period, we had been done very good practice in batting, bowling and fielding. It will benefit for us in the upcoming Asia Cup Twenty20 and ICC World Twenty20,” Al Amin said.
“Last few series the team’s performance has been better. But I could not fare well in the practice matches. I’ll try to prepare myself for the next tournaments. I’ll give my utmost best if I get chance to play there,” Hossain also said.
“When each player tries to improve their individual performance then it affects on the team’s performance. Now every pace bowler is doing well. We have Mashrafe bhai, Mustafiz, Taskin and Rony (Abu Haider). It’s a positive side that all are bowling well whenever they come. It’s not only better for individual player but also for team. It’s a positive competition,” he added.
“Players have to be focused on every ball in T20. When batsmen put on 160 to 180 then the pressure on bowlers comparatively remain lesser. On the other hand, bowlers try to contain their opponent within 140-150 then it is easily chaseable,” Al Amin reckoned.
“We’ve learned a lot from the last home series against Zimbabwe. All the matches of the series have been held on flat track. It’ll helpful for us in the Asia Cup and World Twenty20.”
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will announce the final squad for the two mega event today.
