Preparation of Bangladesh football team for the upcoming SA Games was going on in full swing at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan (BKSP).
Bangladesh will start their mission to retain the gold medal with taking on Bhutan on February 9. Everything is going competently with two practice sessions in a day, as all the players are well facing with no injury or illness.
Manager of the team Satayajit Das Rupu, while talking to this correspondent over phone yesterday said, “Our preparation is going on in full swing, all the boys are okay. Our first match is scheduled for February 9 against Bhutan.”
“We set our first target to confirm the place in the semifinal with winning the first match, then we want to proceed on step by step and the ultimate target is to play the final.”
“We began our preparation almost before a month and the players had also good match practice when they played in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Tournament.”
“ In the practice session our main concern is to rectify the blunders which they did in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup. We find out the reasons of their woeful results that maximum time they tumbled for poor finishing, despite creating good scoring chances and conceded goals for the missteps of the defenders.”
“We have been working hard to get rid of all the silly mistakes and also try to motivate them to forget all the unenthusiastic of the past. We told them to concentrate on the game with full devotion forgetting all from February 9 to 16.”
“If the boys would be sincere and could focus on the game, I think we will be success in our mission,” Rupu revealed about their preparation and target.
Meanwhile, among the 23 players of the SA Games team, almost all are experienced playing for the main national sides.
