All the 1233 government organisations in the country would be brought under e-Government Procurement (e-GP) by December 2016 to ensure transparency, accountability and optimum use in spending of public fund, reports BSS.
So far, 111 government agencies of 30 ministries along with four target agencies have been connected with the e-GP where a total of 18,777 contractors enlisted themselves while 39,744 tenders have been floated using the electronic system.
The parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of planning yesterday apprised the activities of the e-GP system at its 15th meeting held at Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban.
Committee Chairman Abul Kalam Azad chaired the meeting where its members -Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Muhibur Rahman Manik, M Tajul Islam and Samshul Huq Chowdhury took part. State Minister for Planning MA Mannan also participated the meeting.
The parliamentary watchdog body discussed elaborately about the e-GP system.
Planning division secretary and officials concerned were also present at the meeting.
