�Under Construction� invited to Vesoul fest

After participating in several prestigious international film festivals, filmmaker Rubaiyat Hossains Under Construction is going to take part in the Festival International des Cinemas dAsie de Vesoul in France. The film will participate in the main competition section of the festivalthe biggest festival of the Asian films will be held from February 3 to 10, 2016. Director Rubaiyat Hossain along with the lead actor of the film, Shahana Goswami has also been invited to attend the festival.
DhakaLive has news that Under Construction will compete with eight other films in the main competition category of the festival. Besides, the film will also take part in other important sections including critic award and netpack categories.
The president of the International Jury will be Im Sang-soo, notable director of Koreans New Wave. Also Charles Tesson, artistic director of Critics Week at Cannes Film Festival and former editor of Cahiers du Cinma will be part of the critics jury.
The worldwide, international, European and French Premiere of nine feature films and eight documentary films in the main competition will be submitted to six other juried competitions including Netpac, Critics, Guimet and INALCO awards.
Earlier in June last year, the film had its world premiere in Seattle Film Festival in North America. Then, the film participated in a few more international festivals. Besides, the film won Golden Durian Prize for best Asian Films at SalaMindanaw International Film Festival in Philippines. The film was screened at the Montreal International Film Festival (MIFF) in Canada, and Festival De Cine Bogata in Colombia last year. It saw its release in Dhaka theatres on January 22. The film also opened the 14th Dhaka International Film Festival on January 14.
