Ijtema for women held

NATORE: A three-day Mahila Biswa ijtema, concluded here on Tuesday with ‘Akheri Munajat’, seeking peace, prosperity and development of the Muslim Ummah, reports BSS.
The ‘Akheri Munajat,’ conducted by renowned Islamic scholar Dr Hafiza Nasir, was held at the Moukhara Islamia Mahila Degree College ground under Baraigram upazila of the district.
Maoulana Amjad Hossain Jahidi, Monowara Begum, Hafez Ziaur Rahman, Maoulana Delwar Hossain Farooqi, Maoulana Moniruz-zaman, Rahima Begum and Maoulana Abdul Baten delivered their sermons during the three-day ijtema.
The Islamic scholars urged the women devotees to follow the teachings and guidance written in the Holy Quran for maintaining a peaceful, disciplined life. Alhaj Sher Ali Sheikh, one of the organizers of the ijtema, said around 50,000 women from different districts attended the three-day ijtema defying shivering cold.
