Banned Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) yesterday threatened a female magistrate of Dhaka Metropolitan Court in the capital sending her letter.
However, police claimed that they were not aware of any such incident.
According to court sources, the ABT sent magistrate Kamrunnahar Rumi , who is the in-charge of electricity related cases under Dhaka Metropolitan Court, a letter at her office in the capital’s Mohakhali area threatening her to kill if she was not transfer from the post within ten days.
They also threatened to kill her family members if their demands are not met.
According to sources in Bangladesh Chhattra League, the student wing of the ruling Awami League, Magistrate Rumi is wife of former BCL Dhaka University unit general secretary AKM Azim. Talking to The Independent over phone, Officer in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station said, they did not know anything about it.
