5 ‘drug peddlers’ arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday arrested five alleged drug peddlers along with huge amount of foreign alcohol and other drugs from Banani and Hajaribagh area in the capital.
Talking to The Independent, Lt Col SM Masud Rana, director of RAB-2 said getting secret information, a team of RAB-2 raided in front of Banani Super Market around 3pm.
We arrested three persons who were identified as Kamal Hossain, 22, Mizanur Rahman, 22 and Shohel, 18, he added. RAB team also seized 24 bottles of foreign alcohol, 48 cans of beer from their possession, said RAB-2 boss.
In another drive, RAB arrested Liton, 32 and Raihan Hossain, 26 from Hajaribagh area in the capital on Tuesday night. RAB also seized 4 kilograms of Ganja from their possession, said ASP Maruf Ahmed, operation officer of RAB-2. Two separate cases were filed in these connection and   the arrested were handed over to the police.
