Photography contest kicks off today at DIU
Tourism and Hospitality Management Department of Daffodil International University (DIU) and ‘Chhayabanee’, a media communication organisation, will jointly organise two-day long “Ajanta Fashion Beautiful Bangladesh Photography Contest 2016” from today on the university campus, says a press release.
Hasanul Haq Inu, information minister has kindly consented to grace the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest today at 3.00 pm at DIU Auditorium. Aparup Choudhury, Ph,D, Chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation will be present as the special guest. Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University will preside over the programme.
Admission open house begins at EU
The admission open house for spring 2016 semester of Eastern University (EU) started on the university premises yesterday, says a press release.
Abul Khair Chowdhury, chairman, Board of Trustees, EU inaugurated the programme. Prof Abdur Rab, vice-chancellor; Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro-vice-chancellor; treasurer; deans; registrar; advisor; chairpersons; director, admission; controller of exam; deputy directors; teachers; officials and students of EU were present on the occasion.
The admission open house will continue January 25 from 9am to 5pm every day.
Green University holds freshers’ orientation
The orientation programme for the newly enrolled students of Spring Semester-2016 of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) was held on the university campus on Thursday, says a press release.
The orientation program included introduction session, presentation session and briefing session. The presentation session focused on academic systems and rules, advising and registration process, grading systems, result processing, necessary information about GUB, different clubs and co-curricular activities. At the outset, Treasurer Mr. Md. Shahid Ullah highlighted the background and the objectives of the program and welcomed the newly admitted students to the GUB.
Japanese team meets DU VC
A three-member delegation led by Dr Tsuneo Nakajima, Founder of the Tokyo University and Graduate School of Social Welfare, Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr
AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter's office of the university on Thursday.
Other members of the delegation were Makoto Terada and Toshihiko Seto. Assistant Professor of the Institute of Modern Languages (IML) of DU Mohammad Ansarul Alam was present on this occasion. During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes on language and social welfare subjects by the University of Dhaka and Tokyo University, Japan.
The delegation members expressed their willingness to provide more facilities to DU students for higher study in Japan.
They have agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the guests for their visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic activities.
