Reunion of DUAA held

The grand reunion of Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) titled ‘Hironmoyee Melbandhon-2016’ was held yesterday at the university’s central play ground where hundreds of members of DUAA were attended to meet with old friends and teachers. 

The daylong celebrations started with the national anthem at DU Central Playground. 
In his welcome speech, DUAA member Dr Afia Dil, Professor Emeritus at Alliant International University, San Diego, California, said “We feel proud for Dhaka University as the institution have been producing a lot of talented persons who are contributing both home and abroad”.
She also urged the former students to uphold the university’s dignity through their creative and humanitarian activities.
In his speech, DU Vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique said teachers and students of DU always contribute in establishing our loving country since its inception in 1921 and would continue to do so for the nation’s needs. 
Later, a friendly debate titled ‘Shekal (Past days of DU) and Ekal (Present condition) was held at the function. 
The DUAA president Rakib Uddin thanked the all members of DUAA for their cordial presence on the Hironmoyee Melbandhon .
