Survivor: Former 007 in a Negative Role

Staff reporter

Pierce Brosnan has been working in the movie industry for over 35 years now. He is best known for portraying as James Bond in 007 movies. Throughout most of his career Brosnan has appeared in mostly positive characters, characters that defeat evil and fight for the good. But in this movie Survivor movie buffs would find him portraying a villainous role. Survivor is a 2015 British-American spy thriller directed by James McTeigue. The movie stars Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, James D’Arcy and Frances de la Tour into the main roles.
The plot is unique but fails to hold onto the audience’s attention. Spoiler alert: It’s about an American Embassy employee who finds out about some possible secret terrorist attack and decides to investigate it herself. She has been followed by an assassin and she is trying to save herself from getting killed in London.
The movie has some great computer-generated imagery (CGI) and some great action scenes as well. But 20 minutes in to the movie it suddenly loses the appeal. Milla Jovovich is considered one of the movie beautiful actresses in big screen, and she looked very dedicated towards her role. Pierce Brosnan looked average as if he almost knew how the movie was going to turn out. The movie has an unsatisfactory ending and doesn’t have that many surprises along the way. It challenges all reason from its story to its implementation. The critics mostly gave negative reviews. It’s a 96-minute movie and if you have that amount of free time in your hand, watch it at your own risk.

Point Break: Promises a Good Time

Tashfiq Bin Maksud

Point Break is an action crime thriller movie directed by Ericson Core starring Teresa Palmer, Luke Bracey, Edgar Ramirez.
Point Break is inspired by a 1991 classic which portrays highly skilled, sophisticated heists and unpredictable heists conducted by well trained and experienced athletes. From skydiving to snowboarding, these guys use everything they know about sports and implicate them in their robbery. They are fast, swift and very skilled in what they do. And to stop them, the FBI sends an agent equally skilled to track their every move and catch them on the act by gaining their trust.
After a series of events, the agent gets too attached with culprits and falls in a dilemma of who to serve and who to protect.
The budget for this movie is 100 Million and it started filming on 26th June 2014.
The movie is due to be released on this Christmas, this movie is filmed on four continents, North and South America, Europe and Asia showcasing the alps and high mountains along with the extraordinary feats performed by the top athletes which involves wing suit flying, free rock climbing and surfing 70 foot waves.
This remake of the 1991 Point Break movie is surly worth the wait to watch it.

Last Knights: Not Everyone’s Cup of Tea

Sheikh Iraj

The name Kazuaki Kiriya might sound new to some, but he is a well recognised Japanese director of music videos and movies. Through the movie Last Kights, he makes his directorial debut in Hollywood. The story is co-written by Michael Konyves and Dove Sussman, staring Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman into the leading roles. There are total 14 credited actors in the movie.
The movie is no run of the mill story but doesn’t have that intriguing feel to it throughout the entire movie. As soon as Morgan Freeman’s character comes to conclusion the movie becomes totally lackluster and has another 50 plus minutes to go. From there basically nothing happens. Until the plot tries to repay the audiences by coming up with a surprising twist. Which particularly doesn’t work and it stands out as a consolation price. Both Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman are versatile actors working for a long time. Their performance is the best thing the movie has to offer. Sudden ray of genius here and there from the other actors can be seen through their individual performances. But they had only a few lines and those were not exclusive either.
The movie received mostly negative reviews from the audiences and movie review websites. Looking at the set and costumes one can see the movie had a healthy production budget. This movie does no justice to the resume of Kazuaki Kiriya. If you have free time in your hand, Y&I recommends the movie.
