EU lauds Bangladesh’s vibrant media scene

The Head of the European Delegation to Bangladesh, Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon, called on Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, at the latter's office today and conveyed his appreciation of the steps taken by the government in creating a vibrant media, reports UNB.
The information minister briefed him on different steps taken by the government in the sector including those in increasing broadcast frequency, satellite television channels and online media.
The minister explained that the efforts were part of the government's effort to create an enabling environment for a free media.
During the bilateral meeting they also discussed issues of freedom and security of the Internet.
