The prize giving ceremony of ‘Kids Read’ programme was held in Chittagong recently, says a press release.
‘Kids Read’ programme developed by the British Council and supported by Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), was launched in Chittagong in January, 2015.
The programme has been implemented in four government schools in Chittagong and two in Cox's Bazar. In the finale event, the children were awarded certificates and prizes for participating in storytelling and art competitions which were based on the books they read. Ninety-six children received prizes at the ceremony. Chittagong Independent University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Kamal Khan was present as the chief guest at the prize giving ceremony where Barbara Wickham, country director of British Council, Robert S Hermelin, head of Human Resources of HSBC Bangladesh, Abdullah Al Jubayer, manager, Corporate Sustainability of HSBC Bangladesh, were also presen.
