Second Bangladesh trade fair in Nepal kicks off today

The Second Bangladesh Trade and Business Fair is commencing at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu from January 21 to 25.
The trade fair is being organised with the goal of expanding trade and promoting investment between Nepal and Bangladesh.
The trade fair being held by the Embassy of Bangladesh, will feature construction materials, ready-made garments, machineries, handicraft and leather goods, pharmaceutical products, electronic appliances and IT goods. Opportunities for investment in the information technology, hydroelectricity, and tourism and service sectors would also be explored in course of the trade fair.
A 10 member business delegation of the FBCCI led by its president Abdul Matlub Ahmad left Dhaka for Kathmandu uyesterday, says a press release.
The Bangladesh Expo is going to be held during 20-25 January 2016 at Nepal. The Bangladesh Delegation will also attend at the Business Forum on ‘Strengthening Nepal-Bangladesh Business Ties: Engage Explore ,and Invest from sea to Himalayas.’
The FBCCI Delegation is expected to meet the Prime Minister of Nepal during the visit. They will also have meetings with the commerce minister and the commerce secretary of the friendly neighbouring country. Meeting will also be held between FBCCI and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and the Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
Apart from attending the Expo and the Forum the FBCCI delegation will also discuss with their counterparts to expand Bangladeshi trade and investment in Nepal, the statement added.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh has exported its products to Nepal amounting 25 Million US Dollar and has imported of 11.5 Million US Dollar in the 2014-15 fiscal year. It also be mentioned here that this is the first time the trade balance is in favour of Bangladesh. The main export products from Bangladesh to Nepal are agriculture products, engineering goods, chemical, jute and knitwear etc.
Other members of the FBCCI Delegation are its Director Mr. Shameem Ahmed. Hazi Mohammad Moazzem Hossain , President of Bangladesh Footwear and Footwear Accessories Importers Association. Mr. Md. Munzoor Rahman Peter, Vice-President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Mr. Md. Shahidullah , Mr. S M Selim Reza, Al Haz Md. Abul Hossain, Mr. Md. Firoz Alam Sumon, Mr.Alimuzzaman Harun, Ms.Shamima Akter and Mr. Badula Tripura.
The FBCCI Delegation is expected to return to Dhaka on 23 January 2016.
