Sramik League leader hacked to death

Narsingdi: A Sramik League leader was hacked to death by criminals at Birpur in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk, 28, organising secretary of Sramik League of word no. 2 Narsingdi municipality unit and a resident of Birpur in the municipality.
Officer-in charge of Sadar Police Station KM Abul Kashem said a group of miscreants called Faruk out of the house around 9pm and hacked him and slit his throat accelerating his death.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Omar Faruk was wanted in 5-6 cases filed with Sadar Police Station, added the OC.
