Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) yesterday offloaded international tender to procure handheld spectrum monitoring devices to identify the illegal occupiers of the valuable resources.
Bidders have to submit their tender document by 2pm on July 29, which would be opened at 2.30 pm on the same day. After getting the work order, the bidder has to supply the devices within six months, according to the tender invitation.
Officials said the handheld radio monitoring systems are used for operations, where no other system can access.
They said the telecom regulator needs such device to ensure the quality as well as identify the illegal users of the limited and most valuable resources consider the growing demand of it.
Earlier in 2008, the BTRC had procured Spectrum Management and Monitoring System for a strengthen radio frequency evaluation.
The telecom regulator has now fixed airwave monitoring system in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Bogra and Rangpur each. Besides, it has five mobile monitoring stations, which is used across the country as per necessity. In addition, it has also portable monitoring stations and spectrum analyzers.
