Journalist Momtaz Ahmed, a permanent member of the Jatiya Press Club, died on Tuesday night. He was 71, reports BSS.
The first namaj-e-janaza of Ahmed will be held at Narayanganj Press Club at 12 noon today, says a press release from the club. The second namaj-e-janaza will be held at Beparipara Jam-e-Mosque after Zohr prayers.
He will be buried at a graveyard adjacent to Kashipur Eidgah Ground in Narayanganj. He left behind his wife, a son and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. Ahmed was a senior journalist of the now-defucnt Bengali-language daily ‘Dainik Desh’. He also worked for the ‘Al Mujadded’ newspaper. Press club president Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Quamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed deep shock at the death of Ahmed.
They conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members.
