The injured Chhatra League (BCL) activist was succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in city on Tuesday night at 11 PM.
He was taken to a private hospital from Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital as his condition was deteriorated at 9pm.
The deseeded was identified as Kazi Habib.
Earlier on Tuesday a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) led by Sagar and Sohel swooped on him on International University campus and stabbed him with sharp weapon in the city’s Shamimabad area for changing group, leaving him critically injured.
[According to UNB Habib was a 4th year student of Sylhet International University.
Sources at the city unit BCL said Habib was a supporter of Tushar, general secretary of the unit.
A few days back, he left the group and joined Telihawar group, another faction of the unit. The incident occurred barely 14 months into the killing of Suman Roy, another student of the university.
On November 19, 2014, Suman was killed in a gunfight between two groups of BCL on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.]
He was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
As his condition kept deteriorating, he was shifted to Mount Adora, a private hospital in the city, where he succumbed to his injuries around 11pm.
Meanwhile, the university administration announced the two-day holiday following the murder.
The body was sent to deceased hometown in Comilla after postmortem.
A case was filed accusing 11 Chhatra League activists in this connection, sources said.
