Police recovered the body of a schoolboy staffed in a sack in a paddy field at Mirzapur village in Muradnagar upazila of Comilla on Tuesday, four days after he had been abducted, reports UNB.
The deceased was Jihad, 8, son of Babul Mia, a resident of Mirzapur village of the upazila and a student of class II of local Fulkali Kindergarten School.
Officer-in-charge of Muradnagar police station Mizanur Rahman said Jihad had been abducted on Saturday last from his home. Later, Rabiul Hossain, son of Abul Kahyer, a resident of the same village, demanded Tk one lakh as ransom from Jihad’s mother. Following this, Jihad’s uncle Shahid Miah filed an abduction case with Muradnagar police station. Later, police started rescue operation for Jihad and arrested Robiul.
Police on Tuesday recovered the body based on Robiul’s information. Police also detained Rabiul’s uncle Abdur Rahim, mother Amir Jahan and sister Salma Begum in this connection.
