Shwapno fined Tk 5 lakh

A mobile court fined supermarket chain Shwapno’s Green Road outlet in the capital Tk 5 lakh yesterday for using a car parking space as its warehouse to store products. RAJUK executive magistrate Nasir Ahmed conducted the drive. During the drive, he told reporters that the outlet was fined on similar charges in December, last year. At that time, the Shwapno authorities pledged to shift their warehouse from the parking lot but they have failed to do so, the magistrate said. However, officials at the outlet claimed they were not given enough time to shift the warehouse.
