The education ministry yesterday expressed concern over the security system at various educational institutions across the country and asked all institutions to immediately deploy uniformed security guard at institution gates to ensure security. Ministry sources said that all educational institutions including madrasa, technical and English medium institutions have to deploy uniformed security guards.
The ministry, in a circular issued yesterday, also directed educational institutions to form a vigilance team comprising of teachers to oversee security of the institution.
The circular said the existing security system at educational institutions in the capital, divisional cities and the districts are not satisfactory.
It said that the internal security system becomes vulnerable for various reasons at different times, creating a sense of anxiety among students, teachers and guardians.
Such situations hamper the regular academic activities of the institutions and discipline and leads to causing risks on life and property, the circular said.
The circular also stressed on monitoring the presence of outsides during class hours.
There should be at least one guard at each entry or exit gate of the educational institutions to ensure security, ministry sources said.
