India attached the highest priority to its relations with Bangladesh, and it would be his endeavour to work towards further expanding and strengthening the close and friendly ties that exist between the two neighbours, New Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla said yesterday while presenting his credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. He also conveyed the warm greetings of the government and people of India to the president, said an Indian High Commission press release. High Commissioner Shringla said that he looked forward to working with the government of Bangladesh to realise the full potential of India-Bangladesh relations so as to enhance the welfare and well-being of both peoples based on mutual respect, mutual benefit and mutual understanding of each other’s concerns and aspirations. Shringla has replaced Pankaj Saran, who left Bangladesh last month to assume the responsibilities of the Ambassador to Russia.
