A number of newcomers and inexperienced players are set to give the Bangladesh a new look in the third match against Zimbabwe as the experiment will be going on to create a new options and a core group ahead of the Asia Cup and World T20.
Even though it would be a risky venture, Bangladesh are confident of wrapping up the series by winning the third of four-match series today at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium. Given Zimbabwe’s struggle, it won’t be unrealistic to win the series with a match to go.
Bangladesh have already rested three players- Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain and Shuvagata Hom while Mushfiqur Rahim, the mainstay of the batting picked up a hamstring injury during the second match. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Mohammad Shahid, Muktar Ali and Taskin Ahmed replaced those four players with at least two could make the way.
Apart from Taskin, all of the three players are yet to make debut in T20 cricket albeit Mohammad Shahid played five Tests as of now. New pace sensational Abu Haider Rony, the discover of BPL, is all but certain to make his debut, so as Imrul Kayes who will take the place of Mushfiqur Rahim.
The shuffling of so many players at the same time may give it an inexperienced look but Bangladesh still remains as favourite considering Zimbabwe jaded and out-of-sort state. The only worry is to whether it will mess the winning-rhythm of Bangladesh.
“We haven’t thought about our rhythm getting spoilt. Those who have come new, they will play with the team and will try to do the roles of those who have left. I don’t think it will hamper our progress. Those who will come as new face will be motivated to show their mettle,” said Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar.
“Bangladesh cricket is in such place now from where we never think of being lost any match. The target is to win, we’ll get down to win. If everybody chips in with their natural game, it will be easier to win the series,” he added.
“One or two overs could turn the match in T20 cricket. But if play good cricket, you will come out as winner at the end. Focus is only to play good cricket and keep faith on our ability.”
Soumya was included into the side as a pace-bowling all-rounder but ironically his pace bowling option wasn’t much used since he makes his debut. Soumya said he has a plan to bowl from  the Asia Cup after recovering from the injury fully.
“I was used to bowl some overs but after getting injured I didn’t bowl. My plan is to recover from the injury fully and then I want to start bowling from Asia Cup.
