A customs preventive team seized 12 kg of gold from a flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday evening, reports UNB.
Two people were also arrested in this connection.
Tipped off that several gold bars were concealed in the flight coming from Bangkok, a team of customs officials conducted a search at the aircraft around 6:30pm, said Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs Shahiduzzaman Sarkar.
During search, the team recovered 110 gold bars from the toilet of the plane; he said adding that they arrested two people in this connection.
