BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday paid homage to party founder and her late husband Ziaur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, marking his 80th birth anniversary, reports UNB.
Khaleda, a former prime minister, flanked by party leaders and activists, went to the grave around 11:30 am and placed flowers on it. She offered Fateha and prayed with the party leaders and workers, seeking divine blessings for the eternal peace.

Earlier on Tuesday, party flags were hoisted at the party’s Nayapaltan central office and chairperson's Gulshan office at 6am, marking the day.
BNP and its associate bodies and district units are also commemorating the day with various programmes. Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) arranged a free medical camp and voluntary blood donation on the ground floor of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office at 9am.
