Ashwin wants to win Fatullah Test at any cost

Ravichandran Ashwin, the off-spinner of India, said that they try to stay positive always and back them to win the game at any cost regardless of the nature of the wicket.
“ We’ve got bowlers that we think can exploit this track with 140 and 140-plus speeds, and if there is some reverse swing later on in the game. That’s the idea behind that,” said Ashwin.
“It’s also about how the bowlers are bowling and our bowlers have been pretty good. They have learned a lot over the last six months or so in Australia. We are backing ourselves and looking to play the best possible bowlers we have. I think every side does that, whatever best possible bowlers they have, they play,” Ashwin said after the first day’s play.
Chennai-born lad said that they have no control over the weather but if there is any chance to get the result they will do it in the match.
“We can’t really control the weather, it’s out of our reach. But as you said, we put our best foot forward, we played five bowlers and we are looking at the best possible result in the game. If the time is there, and if bowl really well – with a little bit of help and a little bit of luck – we can enforce a result. We’d like to control the controll able component,” Ashwin thought.
About batting selection, the top-ranked off-spinner said that they set the batting order to maintain their consistency that they left off from Australia.
“That’s pretty much the way our openers bat. Shikhar plays his game usually and Vijay settles into his game. So that’s pretty much what happened today, there was no conscious effort in terms of saying , ‘We have to do this’,” he singles out.
“But there is a good sense of everyone trying to express themselves in the team and we are looking to play with a lot of freedom. Hopefully that is being expressed out in the field. There is no particular reason why we play a particular combination, it’s just about maintaining consistency from where we left off in Sydney.”
