India wants to invite Bangladesh to join its massive initiative ‘Namami Gange’ to clean up the Ganges of its pollutants to increase its water flow. And the Indian water resources minister Uma Bharati has said she would like to invite Bangladesh to join the project, BBC reported yesterday. Uma Bharati told the BBC Bangla, since Bangladesh would be benefited if the Ganges is freed of its pollution, she would like to extend a formal invitation soon. BBC Delhi correspondent quoting unnamed officials said that India does not want any financial involvement in the initiative, but would like to have its representative join in the meeting in this regard giving their opinion to reduce the rivers pollution, increasing its flow.
