Students, angered by hike in admission fee for the first year degree class at the Kawkhali Degree College in Prirojpur, kept the room of principal of the institution locked room yesterday.
The students, who have been agitating against the rise in admission fee since yesterday, also kept shut the administrative building and the main gate for hours.
Younis Khan, student of Kawkhali College and also secretary of Kawkhali upazila BCL, said the authorities are charging Tk 2,500-Tk 2,600 against the rate fixed at Tk1850 for the admission fee.
He said the students agitated after college Principal Md Sydur Rahman turned down their request for not taking higher amount of fee during a meeting with them yesterday. “Rather, he had mistreated with us,” he said.
