The long term choice in No. 3!
The experiment on Sabbir Rahman came out as good so far. He was promoted to No. 3 position in the series after he showed the position particularly to his like during the BPL. In the first match of the series, Sabbir played a 46 runs knock which eventually turned out to be match-winning effort. His performance in the second match however was more stellar than the first match. Amid the fall of wickets, Sabbir kept his nerve and calmness to steer the side throughout a period what could have been a potentially torrid situation. During the time he also showed his capability of improvisation when the boundaries weren’t coming. He finally was unbeaten on 43 and made it his day by scalping three for 11.
Retired hurt Mushfiqur Rahim
Mushfiqur Rahim started it well in the first match but couldn’t finish it. Much to the disappointment of electrifying crowd of Khulna Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, the diminutive batsman got cramped to be forced to retire hurt. Team management later confirmed he has injured his right hamstring. And things looked not serious as yet.
Shakib, the finisher!
Shakib was sent to bat for the second time in No. 6 position given the fact that his experience could bail the side out of tricky position at the death overs. It so far worked well. As he has been playing the T20 cricket across the world, Shakib knew well how to adapt with the continuous fast changing situation of T20 cricket. In the first match, he held the nerve to sail the side home and in the second match, he paced up the innings at the death overs to give Bangladesh a healthy total on the board.
