Robi Fast Bowler Hunt, a joint programme of country’s leading mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been kick-started with huge response yesterday.
The first spell of the campaign held at two different venues of Chittagong and Sylhet, where aspiring fast bowlers thronged the cricket stadiums.
Powered by Robi’s Super Fast Internet, the fast bowler hunt session at the M A Aziz Stadium in Chittagong was inaugurated by Robi’s Chief Operating Officer Mahtab Uddin Ahmed. A J M Nasir Uddin, mayor of Chittagong City Corporation and BCB vice-president, and Mahbub Anam, vice president of BCB, were also present.
At Sylhet phase, BCB Director Shafiul Alam Chowdhury inaugurated at the Sylhet International Cricket stadium.
A total of 5 male fast bowlers, out of 1700 eligible candidates, were short-listed from Chittagong led by coach Imran Sarwar.
Elsewhere, a total of 12 male and 1 female fast bowlers, out of 392 eligible registrations, were short-listed in Sylhet led by coach Mahbub Hossain Jaki
