The Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) is going to defer for around one month from third round due to players’ unavailability.
As per the reschedule, the BCL third round will resume on February 19 and it’ll continue till March 14.
The third round of the league was scheduled to start from January 26 following the end of the second round to be commenced from January 19.
Akram Khan, chairman of BCB tournament committee, admitted the matter and said that they’ve decided to delay the league from third round after being informed by the board.
“We got a mail from the board, where it’s directed that the head coach seeks all the players of the preliminary squad for the national team’s next preparation camp. In this situation, it’s difficult to form a team. And so, we’ve decided to delay the league after the second round for around one month,” said Akram Khan.
It’s known that coach Chandika Hathurusingha informed the board that he wants to start the training camp for the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 with the preliminary squad’s participation after the T20 home series against Zimbabwe.
As a result, Prime Bank will loss their 11 players, Walton 4, BCB 6 and Islami Bank 4 and no team will get players to form their team. In that aspect, tournament committee held meeting with franchisees yesterday.
