Array of discounts at DITF

Participants at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), 2016, are offering an array of discounts at the countrys biggest trade show.
Though the promotion sales of products have received mixed response at the fair, the participants are hopeful to achieve their target. Big export-oriented companies are taking the opportunity to promote their products and attract customers.
Companies and exhibitors at the DITF are offering discounts and gifts to promote their products and boost sales hit by low turnout at the beginning of the show. Pavilions and stalls selling furniture, kitchenware, bikes, electronic gadgets, food items and clothes are ahead in the race to attract visitors.
Navana Furniture is offering 15 per cent discount on its products ranging from sofa sets, dining sets, beds, chest of drawers, dressing tables and bedside tables, said Md Arisful Islam, pavilion in-charge and senior executive of Navana Furniture.
He also said though they have brought a number of new items to the trade fair, they are yet to get the desired response. Were offering home silvery for those customers who place orders from the pavilion of DITF, he added.
Similarly, Partex Furniture, Akhter Furniture, Hi-Tech Furniture, Regal Furniture and Hatul Furniture are offering 5 per cent to 15 per cent discounts.
The Navava Group is offering special discounts on brand new Toyota cars at the fair. MA Rasel, assistant manager (Sales) of Toyota Bangladesh, said they are offering Tk. 2 to Tk. 5 lakh off on brand new Toyata cars at the DITF. He added that Yaris 1300 CC (brand new) is being sold for Tk. 26 lakh, instead of Tk. 27.50 lakh, RAV4 2000CC for Tk. 65 lakh, instead of Tk. 70 lakh, Camry 2500 CC for Tk. 65 lakh, instead of Tk. 70 lakh, Avanza 1500 CC for Tk. 29.90 lakh, instead of Tk. 31.50 lakh.
Walton is offering 20% discount on mobile sets at the fair. The local brand introduced about 44 new models of various products for sale. Walton also slashed the prices of different products, including fridges and LED televisions.
With the aim of giving the taste of technology-based new products to customers at the advent of the trade fair, Walton released some products like inverter technology-based no-frost refrigerator, three-door no-frost refrigerator (526 litres), doughnut-maker, sandwich-maker, cake-maker, travel-blender, LED bulb, switch, socket, sealed lead acid recharge battery, holder, fan regulator and many other electronics and electrical home appliances.
Shatoranji, a Rangpur-based handicraft manufacturer, is offering 20% discount on carpets and table mats. Fit Elegance is offering suits at Tk. 3500 only.
Md Golam Rabbani, branch manager of Fit Elegance, said they produce export-quality suits and their demand is very good. Were selling a single trouser at Tk. 900 and blazer at Tk. 2,600 just for promotional sales only, he added.
Novo Nordisk, the worlds largest insulin maker, is providing ambulance and first-aid services at the fair. It is also providing diabetes screening for visitors to create awareness on preventing diabetes at an early stage.
Md Nazim Uddin, executive (sales) of Nordisk, said at least 1,000 to 1,500 visitors are getting screened for diabetes daily.
Md Monirozzan, officer of DBBL, said they are providing banking services to ensure smooth financial transactions at the fair.
