A total of 56 billboards were pulled down from different parts of the Chittagong city on Friday night.
Five magistrates, four from Chittagong District Administration and one from Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) conducted drive and evicted 40 illegal billboards.
On the other hand owners of the billboards pulled down 16 billboards more on their own efforts, said Chittagong District Administration and CCC sources. The mobile courts were conducted from Friday 9pm to Saturday 3am.
Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Ruhul Amin conducted mobile court from Dewanhat area to Barik Building area, Tamim Al Yeamin at Gate No2 area, Hasnat Murshed Bhuiyan, Assistant Commissioner of Land (Agrabad) from Tiger Pass Circle to DC Hill area, and from Muradpur to Oxygen area Afzal Hossain, Assistant Commissioner of Land (Chandgaon) conducted drive and CCC magistrate Nazia Shirin also conducted mobile court in different parts of the city.
Conducted, Executive Magistrate Ruhul Amin, who led the mobile courts told The Independent, “Five mobile court on Friday night conducted drive and evicted 40 billboards including large and small from different parts of the city.”
