A two-day ‘Amal Sen Mela’, marking the 13th death anniversary of Comrade Amal Sen, begins today at Bakri High School premises here.
The main objective of the fair is to commemorate the life and works of Amal Sen, a veteran communist leader, former president of Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and a pioneer of historic ‘Tevaga Movement’ of Narail .
Organised by Amal Sen Smrity Raksha Parshad, the opening session will be chaired by Iqbal Kabir Jahid, president of Amal Sen Smrity Raksha Parishad.
The programme includes placing of floral wreaths at the grave of Amal Sen, discussion meeting on his life and works and a cultural function.
Iqbal Kabir Jahid, president of the Amal Sen Smrity Rakshma Committee, said all preparations have been completed to celebrate the 13th death anniversary of Comrade Amal Sen.
Amal Sen was born on July 19, 1914 in a Zamindar family of village Afra in the then Jessore district. He died on January 17 in 2003.
