Eshraj, Sitar, Mohon Veena captivate audience

After the hat-trick-triumph of Peshkar Cultural Forum, fourth session of Raaga and Rhythm was held on January 15 at the premises of Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyayatan. The performances of Eshraj, Sitar, Classical Vocal and Mohon Veena thrilled the classical music enthusiasts present at the performance. Tamnia Islam started off with her classical vocal recital, accompanied by Mir Naqibul Islam on tabla and Talha Bin Ali on harmonium. Tamnia performed the vocal recital of Kheyal. Young tabla maestro Mir Naqibul Islam and Talha Bin Ali on harmonium accompanied Tamnia forming an ambience of ear-soothing classical evening. The performance ended with a fast tintaal bandish. The brother-sister jugalbandi -- Naqiul Islam and Tamnia Islam thrilled the crowd.
The next performance was with Eshraj, by Ashok Kumar Sarker, accompanied by Swarup Hossain on tabla, that also captivated the eager and enthusiastic music lovers. The classical-charm was well-maintained by both the artistes.
The third performance was by Amzad Khan and Mir Naqibul Islam. A celestial ambience was formed at Chhayanauts hall with the strokes of layakari expert Mir Naqibul Islam. Before pulling off, the showstoppers performed gaat in madhyalaya tintaal and jhala in drut laya.
The last performer Dolon Kanungo played Mohon Veena, accompanied by Swarup Hossain, presented aesthetic melody and rhythm.
After the show, it was later announced that soon a tabla utsaav (festival of taal) would take place for the lovers of classical music. l
