UNB

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday arrested the owner of a recruiting agency and 15 other people from the city’s Malibagh area for their involvement in human trafficking, reports UNB. One of the arrestees was identified as Mohammad Akhtar, owner of ‘Golam Rabbani International Recruiting Agency’ situated at Malibagh Chowdhurypara under Rampura Police Station. Tipped off, a team of RAB-3 launched a drive at the recruiting agency around 5:40pm and made the arrest, said sources at RAB-3. The elite force also seized 2,160 passports and one computer during the drive. The recruiting agency has been sending male and female workers abroad illegally, the sources said, adding that its licence expired six months ago.
