Institutional Quality Assurance Cell to be set up at NSU
North South Universality (NSU) has signed an agreement with University Grant Commission (UGC) on Tuesday to set up an Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at NSU, says a press release.
Gour Gobinda Goswami, vice-chancellor (in-charge), signed the agreement on behalf of his organisation.  
IQAC is a Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) in collaboration with the financial assistance of World Bank which will amount to Tk 2.73 crore for an implementation period of three years started from this January,
2016.
The fundamental objective of IQAC is to develop the overall performance of the institution via performance evaluation, assessment, teaching quality up-gradation and hence pave the way towards higher accreditation.

Orientation programme held at IUB

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted students of the Spring 2016 Trimester on its permanent campus at Bashundhara, in the capital on Thursday.
Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, dean, School of Business, Shahriar Khan, dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science, Abdul Khaleque, dean, School of Environmental Science and Management, Mahbub Alam, dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, addressed the programme.
Brig Gen (Retd) Md Anwarul Islam briefly discussed on the rules and regulations of the university. The programme was conducted by Lima Choudhury, deputy director, Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Office of IUB.

Children drawing festival held at SUST
National children drawing Festival for Sylhet Region was held on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus yesterday.
Batighor Cultural School organised this events nationally while Sylhet Debate Federation(SDF) co-operated in the  Sylhet Regional festival.
Fredom Fighter Vobtosh Roy Barman Rana, Commander of Sylhet city unit  Freedom Fighters’ Union was present as chief guest.
Head of Socialogy  department Prof Jasim Uddin, Associate Prof  Md Faruque Uddin, freedom fighter Salimullah,  District Cultural Officer Asith Boron Das Gupta , Principal Mehedi Hasan Shuyev, SDF Founder Sheikh Sibbir Ahmed, SDF president Mazharul Billah were also present in the programme, among others.
