Ruling Awami League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta yesterday said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will take part in all the coming elections including the next parliamentary polls under the incumbent Sheikh Hasina administration and the Election Commission.
“I hope BNP will take part in the next polls like the party is joining the local body elections under the management of the current Election Commission,” he said this while addressing a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the capital.
The AL senior leader said that BNP’s participation in the local government elections is a positive side of the party and it seems the party is trying to return to the positive politics.
Suranjit also urged the BNP to do positive politics by joining the elections as it is an important component of democracy.
Bangladesh has witnessed a remarkable progress in the fields of development due to farsighted and visionary initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said adding that the entire nation is proud of extra-ordinary leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh will achieve middle-income status by 2021, if this development trend continues in future, he added.
