Councillors held from oath taking ceremony

Detective police picked up two newly elected municipal councillors immediately after they finished oath-taking at a function in Bogra town yesterday. Witnesses said they were whisked away by the Detective Branch (DB) police after they came out of the Shaheed Titu Auditorium, where they took oath as new councillors of Bogra municipality.  They are ward-2 BNP president Md Towhidul Islam alias Bitu and   secretary of Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Sanggha (Jashash) of the district unit Md Delawar Hossain Poshari alias Hiru. Md Gaziur Rahman, assistant superintendent of police of Bogra, said the two councillors were wanted in several cases, including sabotage.
