14 Jamaat men arrested

Habiganj: Detectives in a drive arrested 14 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, including its Habiganj district unit ameer Mukhlesur Rahmanon, from Bhadai village in Sadar upazila yesterday morning on charges of sabotage plan, reports UNB. The other arrested are: district Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer Muhammad Abdur Rahman, district Jamaat secretary Muhammad Mushahid Ali, Habiganj municipal Jamaat ameer Kaji Mohosin Ahmed and 10 others leaders of different upazilas. Being tipped off about a secret meeting of Jamaat leaders, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted the drive in the house Mukhlesur Rahman at Bhadai village around 9am and arrested them.  The DB members also seized Tk 1 lakh cash, 4,000 jihadi leaflets, 70 books and 16 mobile phones from the spot.
