Use of ICT in agriculture can help farmers
It is vital to disseminate helpful information to farmers timely with the help of ICT to save their time and cost, speakers at a roundtable said.
They came up with the observation at a roundtable discussion on the role of ICT in agricultural expansion in the capital recently, says a press release.
Now farmers can easily get information about market prices of their crop, diseases of the crops, poultry and fisheries and also prevention method of the diseases through mobile phone and this kind of services can save the time and cost of farmers, said the speakers adding that more awareness is needed regarding the use of ICT in agriculture.
Agribusiness for Trade Competitiveness Project (ATC-P) Katalyst and Daily Prothom Alo jointly organised the programme.
The seminar broadly discussed about the situation of the farmers.
