Masakadza rues a missed-chance

Zimbabwe batsman Hamilton Masakadza rued for a missed-chance as his side squandered a good platform to upset Bangladesh in the first T20 International yesterday.
Thanks to Masakadza’s well-composed 79 off 53, Zimbabwe were on course of a big total but a middle order collapse ruined their hopes. Zimbabwe scored just 31 runs for the loss of five wickets in the last five over, being strangled by Bangladesh pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain and it was the deciding factor of the match.
Masakadza admitted, stating, “I thought we missed out on 15/20 runs in the end. From the position we were looking at least 180.”
With just 163 runs on the board, it was tough to resist a team which was evolving as a giant in the world cricket after a landmark 2015. Masakadza said, had it been 180, they could sense a chance.
“I think at the end you can look at little things like that but I thought if we  were defending 180 it would have made a big difference,” he said, adding he would hold the batsmen responsible for the loss.
But still he tried to take some positive notes from match, specially after their debacle in UAE where they were whitewashed in two-match T20 series to ICC associate Afghanistan. They also lost the ODI series to Afghans by 2-3.
“I think it was more of positives from the way we started our batting and at some stages our spinners bowled well as well. So there were few positives to take out of the game,” the burly Masakadza pointed out.
